According to the Eastern Daily Press, Leeds United goalkeeper Rob Green has praised former club Norwich City and is looking forward to facing them this weekend.
What’s the word, then?
The two clubs are meeting at Carrow Road in the Championship this weekend and Green, who made 241 appearances in nine seasons for the Canaries before joining West Ham in 2006, is happy to be returning to the side where he made his name and received a first England call-up under then manager Sven-Goran Eriksson.
The 36-year-old stopper said: “Norwich is a great club and a place where I still have a lot of friends. I look forward to going back there again.”
How are things with his current club?
Very good. After a disappointing start, Leeds have gone from strength to strength in recent weeks under Garry Monk and now lie just one point outside of the play-off places after a run of six wins in their last nine matches.
Norwich will be a tough place to go, though, right?
It could well be. The Canaries are one of those teams in the top six but they suffered a devastating 5-0 hammering at promotion rivals Brighton last weekend.
They could either be feeling sorry for themselves, or be a wounded animal ready to strike back on Saturday.
